Clunky, yes but it's a decent workaround for isolating code blocks similar to how other note taking apps do it. Add shading and it really pops.
Paste them into a single cell table with the formatting you want from an editor. Cell is optional but makes it more like a code block. Not everything keeps its formatting, some need pasting into word and then copying again to show correctly in onenote. I found notion's actual code blocks much better, I just wish you could embed them in onenote.
