The expected evolution of downtown Phoenix from sterile business center to chic go-to among the local masses has not occurred in the wake of Chase Field's opening. There was an uptick when the ballpark opened in 1998, but it was a brief one life in downtown has since stagnated.
Chase Field, formerly Bank One Ballpark, is a retractable-roof stadium in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Before the 2008 season began, an HD scoreboard was installed beyond center field, replacing the original. The new scoreboard is 46 ft 14 m high and 136 ft 41 m wide and cost 14 million.

Per policy, approved bags for entry into Chase Field must measure 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches or smaller, must be single-compartment, and must be clear, like those permitted in NFL stadiums. Gallon-size plastic bags are also permitted. Large bags such as backpacks, suitcases and purses are forbidden at Chase Field, per stadium policy.

Bleacher seats are situated behind both the left and right-field fences, while a 25-foot center-field wall serves as the hitter's backdrop, with the main video scoreboard positioned above it. One of the most unique features at Chase Field is the swimming pool located behind a section of the right-field fence.
Chase Field is very accessible via automobile as it has close and easy access to I-10 and I-17. Plenty of parking is available for 25 - 30 in nearby garages and lots. The Chase Field Garage at 401 S 4th St and the Jefferson Street Garage at 333 E Jefferson St are the closest and are covered.
